Lahore Property News:New LDA housing society on the cards
Lahore – The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Governing Body on Monday decided to launch a new housing scheme in the city, which will be located at Link Khayaban-e-Jinnah Road and Defence Road on 4,361 kanals land.
The decision was taken in the governing body’s meeting chaired by Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) and LDA Chairman Ahad Cheema. The authority approved re-modeling of Model Town Link Road from Maulana Shaukat Ali Road to Pace Shopping Centre, Lahore. The project will be executed at cost of Rs 186.66 million. The scheme will be a three-lane dual carriageway with service roads and parking provision on both sides. The authority decided to place the remaining 49 mortgaged plots of Venus Housing Scheme, with aim of generating revenue to complete development works in this scheme, in pursuance of the orders passed by the Supreme Court. Date of the auction will be announced very soon. The authority also accorded approval for construction of incomplete roads in Venus Housing Scheme at cost of Rs 30.38 million.
Keeping in consideration the extraordinary conditions created by dengue, the authority allowed temporary utilisation of seven of its dispensary sites, situated in various localities of the city, by the health department of the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) to treat patients. The authority also adopted the Punjab Health Department’s notification regarding grant of health professional allowance to its senior medical officers. The authority also approved bifurcation of the posts of WASA engineering director for appointment among the senior most deputy directors or on deputation.
In line with the decision of the Punjab government to regularise contract employees, the authority confirmed the services of all teaching and non-teaching staff working on contract basis from BPS-1 to 16 in LDA Model High Schools (Boys & Girls). It has also decided to pay salary to the principal, LDA Model High School (Boys & Girls) Johar Town, Lahore, working on contract basis, according to BPS-18 instead of fixed pay.
