Possible sale of 114-kanal to the Defence Housing Authority Lahore ( DHA )
LAHORE, April 14:
PLEA FILED: A writ petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court challenging a possible sale of 114-kanal land, attached to a Gurdawara, to the Defence Housing Authority (DHA Lahore) by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).
Gulab Singh, a member of the Bibi Nanki Gurdawara Trust management committee, filed the petition, pleading that huge portion of the land situated in Mota Singh village, Lahore Cantonment, was evacuee trust property and attached to Gurdawara.
He said being trust property, it should be preserved but ETPB had already disposed of most part of the land to DHA. He alleged the board was again bent upon to sell the remaining 114 kanals to DHA.
He pointed out that he approached the ETPB chairman with a request not to sell the property and transfer the same to Gurdawara for its extension, but he paid no heed.
